Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Crime Report – Feb. 27, 2014
Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Assault arrest: Deputies responded to a call in the 400 block of East 16th Street in Rifle on Feb. 19 at 9:54 a.m. Desirae Suzanne Martinez, 20, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of illegal possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor, third degree assault and violation of a restraining order. She was taken to jail.
Vehicle summons: Deputies impounded a vehicle for traffic violations in the 600 block of Wapiti Court in Rifle on Feb. 21 at 1:37 p.m. A summons was issued for failure to provide proof of insurance and displaying expired license plates to David Lee Johnson, 61, of Rifle.
Theft: Deputies responded to an incident on Sipprelle Drive in Battlement Mesa on Feb. 21 at 5:46 p.m. Phillip Andrew Fry, 26, of Parachute, was issued a summons for theft.
Burglary: Deputies responded to a burglary report on Silver Queen Circle in Battlement Mesa on Feb. 22 at 11:10 a.m. The case is closed/inactive pending further information.
Driving offense: Deputies contacted a man in a vehicle near West Fifth Street and Railroad Avenue in Rifle on Feb. 22 at 3:41 p.m. Billy Glen Price, Jr., 52, of Rifle, was issued a summons for driving with a revoked license.
Illegal emergency lights: Deputies made a traffic stop in the west bound lanes of I-70 outside Rifle on Feb. 22 at 6:14 a.m. Jose Serrano, 39, of Silt, was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, failure to provide proof of insurance and illegal use or possession of emergency lights. He was taken to jail.
Domestic violence: Deputies responded to a disturbance on Empire Court outside Parachute on Feb. 22 at 6:51 a.m. Chad Edward Hughes, 32, of Parachute, was arrested on suspicion of criminal tampering and domestic violence and was taken to jail.
Harassment: Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of West Battlement Parkway in Battlement Mesa on Feb. 23 at 9:30 a.m. Christopher John Warde, 27, of Battlement Mesa, was arrested on suspicion of harassment and taken to jail.
Traffic offenses: Deputies contacted a woman in a vehicle on Colorado Highway 82 outside Carbondale on Feb. 23 at 12:48 a.m. Carolina Munoz Armenta-Salazar, 33, of Parachute, was issued a summons for speeding and failure to provide proof of insurance.
Vandalism: Deputies responded to a report of vandalism in the 500 block of Tamarisk Trail in Battlement Mesa on Feb. 24 at 11:02 a.m. The case is closed/inactive pending further leads.
