Garfield County Sheriff’s Office reports

Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a criminal mischief call in the Parachute area on April 30 at 5:57 p.m. The case is inactive and closed pending further leads.

Stolen plate: on May 2 at 6:22 p.m., deputies took a report of a stolen license plate along Cedar Breaks Road outside Rifle.

Warrant arrest: Deputies arrested Shane Cary Seegmiller, 23, of Rangely, on an active warrant along Hunter Mesa Shop Road outside Rifle on May 2 at 1:42 p.m. He was taken to jail and later picked up by Rio Blanco authorities.

Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted Derick Jackson Samora, 31, of Parachute, on Dogwood Lane outside Parachute on May 3 at 9:35 a.m. regarding a misdemeanor arrest warrant. He was taken into custody and to jail.

Domestic arrest: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance outside New Castle on May 4 at 9:41 p.m. After investigation, Joshua Marcus Rew, 31, of New Castle, was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, third degree assault, harassment and violation of a restraining order. He was taken to jail.

Warrant arrest: Deputies investigated a possible domestic disturbance on West Battlement Parkway in Battlement Mesa on May 5 at 8:59 a.m. After investigation, Timothy Dale Looney, 33, of Parachute, was arrested on an active warrant and taken to jail.
