This year’s Grand Valley Days brought lots of fun activities to Parachute this past bright and sunny weekend.

After a pancake breakfast at the Grand Valley United Methodist Church, a large crowd showed up for the Saturday morning parade featuring members of the community, local businesses, organizations and authorities.

The event also attracted visitors from surrounding areas, including Rifle, Rulison and Battlement Mesa, to celebrate rural communities across western Garfield County.

Following the parade, a car show by Wheels West Car Club members was setup on 1st Street displaying classic and custom automobiles, attracting car lovers of all ages.

The yearly celebration offered plenty of fun activities for the kiddos including games, rodeo, a movie night, fishing derby, free ice cream and pie.

The super coin scramble at Beasley Park distributed vrious prizes to the lucky ones who found the brightly colored pennies, including two brand new scooters.
