Leonard William “Bill” Crandell

August 9, 1936 – August 1, 2014

Leonard William “Bill” Crandell died at his home in Rifle, Colorado on August 1, 2014 at the age of 77. He was born to Ellis Norman and Jessie Lane Crandell in Grand Junction, Colorado on August 9, 1936. Bill was in the Air Force from 1954 – 1957. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid marksman. His favorite hunting location was on Skinner Ridge North of DeBeque.

Bill is survived by his wife, Louise, of Rifle; daughter,Glenda; granddaughter, Samantha Jo of Battlement Mesa; grandson, Joseph; brother, Maynard, of Grand Junction; sister, Darlene, of Moab, Utah; aunt, Betty Spangler of Dove Creek; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Retta Ann and Brenda Faye Crandell, grandson Samuel and his brother Earl Ray “Cotton” Crandell.

Bill was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be sorely missed.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 at the DeBeque Cemetery.
