Ursa takes right steps

For generations my family has been working hard providing hundreds of jobs, heating homes, generating electricity and providing a quality of work we are proud of day-in, day-out as part of western Colorado’s energy business. Ursa Operating Co. should also be proud, as they have worked hard on a plan that will minimize drilling impacts to the residents of Battlement Mesa.

Ursa has hosted numerous informative meetings, they have gone door-to-door throughout the neighborhoods to notify residents of their intentions and they have advertised on the radio and through the mail. They have hosted a total of five community engagement meetings covering every process, step and technology that will be used throughout the drilling process.

Ursa has reduced the size of its project by leaps and bounds, taking the drilling pad number from 14 to five. State-of-the-art sound walls will reduce noise. Underground pipelines will replace trucks. And hundreds of other technologies and cutting-edge industry best practices make their proposal one of the most advanced in Colorado.

Residents of Battlement Mesa have every right to be concerned and heard, and they have every right to demand the highest operating standards — and that’s just what URSA is delivering.
