Obituary: Fred H. Lawson

Longtime Rifle resident Fred Lawson passed away in Omaha, Neb., on June 2, 2013. He was 89.

Fred was born on July 23, 1923 in Moses, N.M. Fred was joined in marriage to Marjorie Cook on July 4, 1942, in New Castle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 58 years, Marjorie; and siblings, Ruby, David, Louella and Ken.



Fred is survived by his daughter, Linda Knapp of Omaha; sister-in-laws, Ruth (Dave) Lawson of Rifle and Carol (Ken) Lawson of Laurel, Mont.; numerous nieces and nephews, including David (Shirley) Lawson of Rifle and Nancy (Ben) Lemon of Palisade.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle on Aug. 14.
