Thank you GarCo libraries for being wonderful
I am writing in appreciation of the New Castle Friends of the Library.
We are so fortunate that we have wonderful libraries in Garfield County. Each library is truly an asset to the community it serves. The members of the communities served make the excellence in our libraries possible.
Last weekend, during the Burning Mountain Festival in New Castle, the Friends of the Library conducted their annual book sale and silent auction. All year long they gather books, DVDs, and music CDs for the sale that gives members of our community the chance to own these materials as well as raising money to supplement the library budget and enrich the library experience for library users. All year the Friends of the Library look for interesting baskets to fill with unique collections for their silent auction.
In the last year the Friends of the Library have provided support for the Summer Reading Program and the funds to purchase a collection of award-winning foreign films. The Friends have also provided delicious refreshments for folks attending library programs. In June they put on a Night at the Cabaret as a library fundraiser and support the library in many ways.
Thank you, New Castle Friends of the Library, for your contribution to making our library great.

Thank you for your support
The firefighters of Colorado River Fire Rescue would like to express their gratitude to the people of Rifle, Silt and New Castle for making our Labor Day 2015 “Fill the Boot for MDA” campaign a success. Over the Labor Day weekend, CRFR firefighters raised over $12,000 for this worthy cause. We would not have achieved this without your support.
For over 60 years the Muscular Dystrophy Association has been helping MD patients and their families to lead lives as happy and normal as possible, while funding research to help find a cure. Please visit the mda.org website for more information on how your donations are spent.
If you were unable to make a donation over the Labor Day weekend, you may still help “Fill the Boot” at any of our four staffed fire stations. Thank you!
