LIFT-UP food drive a success
On Nov, 14, the New Castle Cub and Boy Scouts held their yearly food drive for LIFT-UP. They delivered almost 1,100 bags of nonperishables. Yes, that’s around three tons of food. It will substantially contribute to meeting the food needs of those folks in our community who are struggling.
On Nov. 21, about 100 families collected Thanksgiving food boxes. We will distribute Christmas food boxes to families on Dec. 19.
Thank you to the townspeople for your generous donations and to the scouts, parents and other wonderful volunteers for their help getting all that food sorted. It was an inspiring event for everyone and great fun watching the scouts pitch in and get the job done.

Cub Scouts acknowledge Lions Club
On behalf of our community, and the New Castle Cub Scouts Pack 221, we want to thank the New Castle Lions Club once again for bringing our community together at this special time of year, with your annual free Thanksgiving dinner. In addition to being our sponsor, you do so much more for our community. It appeared bigger and better than ever. We live in an amazing community, and your team helps make it special. Our boys, once again, really enjoyed being waiters for the event.
