Rifle High School grad runs his way to NCAA Divsion II championships

Dustin Ross, a 2010 Rifle High School graduate, recently qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the men’s 1500 meters.

Ross, a junior at Augusta State University in Augusta, Ga., is the only Jaguar to qualify for the postseason on both men’s and women’s track and field teams at the school.

Ross qualified by placing fourth in the men’s 1500 at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Athens, Ga., with a time of 3:50:31. He made school history by becoming the first ASU track and field athlete to qualify for the championships and is seeded 16th among 20 runners for the preliminary round.



The championships will be hosted by Colorado State University-Pueblo on May 23-25.
