Rifle Police Department & Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Crime Report – July 18, 2013

Vehicles targeted: Police received several reports of vehicle trespass and thefts from the Palomino Park area on July 7. They are under investigation.

Theft: Police received a report of a stolen license plate in the 1000 block of Airport Road on July 7 at 4:52 p.m.

Burglary: Officers took a report of a residential burglary in the 700 block of Elder Court on July 7 at 9:54 p.m. Suspects have been identified and this case is under investigation.



Shoplifting: Police responded to a shoplifting report in the 100 block of East 26th Street on July 7 at 11:51 p.m. The case is under investigation.

Fake license: Deputies stopped a vehicle near exit 111 on I-70 on July 8 at 9:04 a.m. Jose Manuel Villagrana, 25, of Rifle, was issued a summons for allegedly having a fake license plate.



Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a man in the 600 block of Bristlecone Way Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorText ColorText ColorText Coloroutside Silt on July 9 at 1:47 p.m. Luis Alberto Jurado, 18, of Silt, was arrested on anText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorText ColorText ColorText Color active warrant and taken to jail.

Vehicle break in: On July 9 at 6:59 a.m., police received a report that a vehicle had been broken into in the 400 block of Airport Road.

Theft: On July 9 at 8:45 a.m., officers took a report of a theft from the 100 block of Railroad Avenue. The property was found and returned to its owner.

Trespassing: Officers received a report of trespass in the 1000 block of Airport Road on July 10 at 1:01 p.m. Samantha Nichole Thompson, 24, and Angela Marie Drummond, 24, both of Rifle, were previously issued trespass notices that told them they were not to be on the property. Both women were issued summonses for trespass and released.

Bike theft: On July 10 at 7:28 p.m., police took a report of the theft of a bicycle from a residence in the 200 block of East Fourth Street. The case is under investigation.

Teens fight: Police responded to the 700 block of Fir Avenue on July 10 at 8:43 p.m. for a report of a fight. Thirteen- and 14-year-old juvenile boys were identified as suspects, and the investigation continues.

Warrant arrest: Police contacted a suspicious man in the 300 block of South Seventh Street on July 11 at 12:41 a.m. At that time, no known crimes had been committed, and the man was released. Later, it was found the man had an active warrant and was recontacted. Upon arrest, Joshua Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorText ColorText ColorText ColorAlvin Ramsey, 28, of Rifle, was found to allegedly be in possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia. Ramsey was issued a summons for the violations and taken to jail on the warrant.

Shoplifting: Police responded to a business in the 1000 block of Airport Road on July 11 at 7:17 p.m. for a report of shopliftText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorText ColorText ColorText Coloring. Warrant arrest: Police contacted Terry Lee Lacharles Wedgeworth, 18, of Aurora, who was arrested for an outstanding warrant on July 12 at 2:39 a.m.

Assault: Police took a report of an alleged assault that occurred in the 1300 block of Howard Avenue on July 12 at 3:16 a.m. The case is under investigation.

Animal neglect: Officers were called to the 2700 block of Howard Avenue on July 12 at 9:59 a.m. for a report of animal neglect. Officers helped the animal, and the owner was educated about proper care for the animal.

Bike theft: Officers received a report that a bicycle was stolen in the 1300 block of Railroad Avenue on July 12 at 12:15 a.m. The bike was found by a witness and returned to the owner. Officers are attempting to locate the suspect.

Order violation: Police took a report of a restraining order violation in the 200 block of South Ninth Street on July 12 at 6:59 p.m. Police are seeking a warrant for the suspect.

Disorderly conduct: Police received a report of a man behaving suspiciously in the area of Howard Avenue and West 24th Street on July 12 at 8:56 p.m. Police contacted Adrian Hermosillo-Gutierres, 21, of Glenwood Springs, who was arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor (for having left alcohol at a park and offering it to minors), disorderly conText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorText ColorText ColorText Colorduct (for threatening a passerby and making inappropriate comments to juveniles) and obstructing government operations (for having attempted to flee from police). Home break in: Officers, while on scene for a separate matter on July 13 at 11:51 a.m., learned that a home had been broken into in the 1500 block of Graham Court. It appears there was damage to the residence, but no items were reported stolen.

DUI: Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near East Seventh Street and Birch Avenue on July 14 at 12:05 a.m. The driver, Martin Mojarro Gomez, 28, of New Castle, was arrested for suspicion of DUI, no proof of insurance and a traffic violation. The vehicle was impounded. A passenger, Jorge Antonio Ruiz-Jabrisue, 31, of Rifle, was issued a summons for having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

Broken window: Police took a report of criminal mischief in the 500 block of Birch Court on July 14 at 7:25 a.m. in which a vehicle window was broken.

Theft: On July 14 at 6:15 p.m., officers took a report that items were stolen out of a vehicle in the 600 block of Wapiti Court.

Criminal mischief : On July 15 at 12:10 p.m., deputies took a report of a less than $1,000 criminal mischief incident that occurred on Powerline Road outside Rifle. There is currently no suspect information.

Underage alcohol violation: Deputies contacted a man on July 15 at 12:13 a.m. near County Road 242 and Colorado Highway 13 outside Rifle. Amilkar Ingnacio Dominguez-Antillon, 20, of Rifle, was issued a summons for illegal possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a man on County Road 320 outside Rifle on July 15 at 11:49 p.m. Anthony Royal Green, 37, of Rifle, was arrested on an active warrant and taken to jail.
