Rifle Police Department & Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Crime Report – June 20, 2013

Editor’s note: The Rifle Police Department and Garfield County Sheriff’s Office reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Shoplifting: Police responded to a call of theft at a liquor store in the 400 block of West Second Street on June 6 at 1:26 p.m. Wynn Kristina Pierce, 40, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of theft for allegedly leaving the store without paying for an item.



Trespass: Police received a report of trespass in the 200 block of West 20th Street on June 6 at 2:08 p.m. It did not appear anything was stolen.

Stolen skateboard: On June 6 at 2:46 p.m., police received a report that a skateboard had been stolen from the 500 block of West 24th Street.



Warrant arrest: Police contacted Clifton Earl Hane, 54, of Glenwood Springs, at a Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Colortraffic stop in the 100 block of West 24th Street on June 6 at 11:58 p.m. Hane was arrested on an active warrant and taken to jailText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Color.

Theft: On June 7 at 8:20 p.m., police took a report of theft from a business in the 1000 block of Airport Road.

Trespass arrest: Police responded to the 100 block of East First Street on June 7 at Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Color10:32 p.m. for a report of suspicious activity. Officers later arrested Josephine Ann Patton, 20, of Rifle, on suspicion of trespass and an active warrant. DUI: Police responded to the 2700 block Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Colorof East Avenue on June 8 at 3:06 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. Tracy Austin, 37, of Rifle, was arrested for DUI, harassment and domestic violence. She was taken to jailText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Color.

Theft: Police responded to a residential burglary in the 1400 block of East Seventh Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText ColorStreet on June 8 at 5:56 p.m. Danielle Marie Trujillo, 35, of Rifle, was later arrested on suspicion of theft and taken to jailText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Color.

Warrant arrest: Police contacted Ashley Maline Paulsen, 23, of Rifle, who was known to have an active warrant, at a business in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue on June 8 at 11:03 p.m. Paulsen was arrested and later posted bond and was released.

Order violation: While investigating a separate matter on June 9 at 2:25 p.m., officers took a report of a domestic violence restraining order violation. A warrant has been issued for a suspect.

Found wallet: Officers took a report of a wallet stolen from the area of Taughenbaugh Boulevard on June 10 at 9:02 a.m. The wallet was later found in the 400 block of West Second Street and returned to its owner.

Gas theft: Police responded to a report of gas theft in the 1200 block of Railroad Avenue on June 10 at 9:21 a.m. Christopher Scott Alan Hart, 29, of Silt, was cited for theft and the vehicle Hart was driving was impounded for registration violations.

Forgery: Officers investigated a report of fraud in which a stolen check was presented to a business in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue for cash on June 10 at 11:18 a.m. Officers identified suspects and the case is under investigation.

Warrant arrest: Breezy Eve Marie Pinkerton, 22, of Salt Lake City, Utah, turned Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Colorherself in at Rifle Police Department, 201 E. 18th St., on June 10 at 3:21 p.m. for an active warrant. She was arrested and taken to jailText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Color.

Trespass: On June 11 at 10:28 p.m., officers received a report of trespass in the 400 block of McCarron Avenue but found insufficient evidence of a crime.

Warrant arrest: On June 12 at 7:53 a.m., while helping another agency on an unrelated matter, officers contacted Jonathan Andrew Brennan, 38, of Rifle, who was found to have an active warrant. He was arrested and later posted bond and was released.

Traffic violations: Officers contacted a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the 400 block of West Second Street on June 12 at 5:32 p.m. Bryon Lee Galliher, 28, of Rifle, was issued a summons for no proof of insurance, driving under revocation and careless driving. The vehicle was impounded.

Fight: Officers responded to a fight in progress in a parking lot in the 400 block of West Second Street on June 12 at 6:34 p.m. Katelyn Crosby-Blakeway, 32, and Lean Jean Galliher, 30, both of Rifle, were both issued summons for disorderly conduct.

Family disturbance: Police responded to a reported disturbance between family members in the 1000 block of West 24th Street on June 12 at 8:26 p.m. but were unable to determine a crime occurred.

Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a pedestrian walking on County Road 301 Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Coloroutside Parachute on June 13 at 3:12 p.m. Charles Thomas Coleman, Jr., of Rifle, was arrested on an active warrant and taken to jail.

Burglary: On June 13 at 5:40 p.m., police took a report of a residential burglary in the 900 block of West Fifth Street. The case is under investigation.

Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a criminal mischief call on Silverton Place in Battlement Mesa on June 14 at 3:25 p.m. This case remains inactive, pending further leads.

Sexual assault arrest: Deputies arrested Aaron Jason Rychlik, 34, of Battlement Mesa, in the 100 block of Silver Plume Drive on Battlement Mesa on June 14 at 6:07 a.m. on an active warrant for sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.

Warrant arrest: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on County Road 346 outside Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText ColorSilt on June 14 at 11:06 a.m. Ruben Marquez Dominguez, 34, of New Castle, was arrested on an active warrant for probation violation and was taken to jailText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Color.

Traffic violations: Deputies conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 94 in the westbound lanes of I-70 on June 15 at 11:20 p.m. Michael A. Chapman, 29, of Battlement Mesa, was issued a summons for speeding, failure to provide proof of insurance and driving without a valid license.

Domestic arrest: Deputies responded to Text ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Colora domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Cedar Breaks Road outside Silt on June 15 at 10:35 a.m. Ryan Alexander May, 40, of Silt, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer and was taken to jailText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/SolidText ColorSwatch/NoneStrokeStyle/$ID/Solid$ID/NothingText ColorText Color$ID/NothingText ColorText Color.

Theft: Deputies took a theft report in the 100 block of Riverboat Drive outside New Castle on June 16 at 7:54 p.m. This case remains inactive, pending further leads.

Order violation: Police responded to the 300 block of Railroad Avenue on June 16 at 2:06 a.m. for a report of a disturbance. Janet Mare Klinder, 46, of Parachute, allegedly damaged a vehicle by kicking the mirrors off it and kicking the vehicle. Theft: On June 16 at 8:52 p.m., police received a report that valuable items and money were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 2500 block of Meadow Circle.

Domestic violence: Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of West 25th Street on June 16 at 9:05 p.m. Cristobal Carmona Rodriguez, 47, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence. He was taken to jail.

Vehicle damaged: On June 17 at 3:25 p.m., police took a report of a vehicle that had allegdly been vandalized while it was parked in the 1000 block of Airport Road.
