Susan Christine Woodhouse

Susan Woodhouse, age 55, passed away May 9, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Grand Junction, following a lengthy illness. Known to her large family as Chrissy, she was an enthusiastic, highly intelligent, fun-loving, Western-woman who treasured her family and brought joy into their lives. Chrissy’s many skills and professions included: gardener, mentor for the disabled, lifeguard, metric fastener sales woman, bank teller, sharpshooter, story teller, receptionist, scuba diver, skier, artistic chef, animal lover and hopeful Broncos fan. Chrissy loved all the traditional holidays, decorating and celebrating each one throughout the year. Her favorite place was the beach at the ocean.

She is survived by her mother, Susan Woodhouse of Rifle; sister, Kathleen Brown (Earl) of Commerce City, Colorado; and four brothers: Fred Woodhouse (Chris) of Parachute; James Woodhouse (Kim) of Valdez, Alaska; Mike “Rocky” Woodhouse (Esther) of Fruita; Patrick Woodhouse of Parachute; plus cousins, two aunts and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, James Woodhouse of Parachute, her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Following cremation, final disposition of her ashes will occur. A celebration of her life at an outdoor gathering will be held when the weather permits.
