Trio Upward Bound

Students with the Trio Upward Bound program work in the keyhole gardens located at Jim Lord Insurance in Rifle. The gardens are part of Growing Food Forward's commercial concept gardens created to support food security awareness at the local level. All the produce grown in the gardens will be donated to LIFT-UP and Totes for Hope in Rifle. The Upward Bound program is a federally funded program sponsored by Colorado Mountain College that serves students from Coal Ridge, Grand Valley and Rifle high schools. It provides higher education opportunities to students who didn’t believe college was a possibility.
