Some golfers will go their whole lives without sinking a hole-in-one.

Not Leah Kanakaraj. The 10-year-old New Castle resident carded her first one-and-done shot on July 21 at Lakota Canyon Ridge Golf Course.

Using her driver, Kanakarag smacked her ball 98 yards on the No. 3, par-three hole for an eagle.”The flag was in the middle of the green and the ball hit the green before the flag and rolled over a hill and in,” Kanakaraj said.

Paul Kanakaraj, Leah’s father, was there to witness the shot. He has taken her golfing since she was 6 years old.Leah said she was surprised and excited at the site of her first hole-in-one.
