Annual River Valley Ranch Tennis Tourney starts Friday

The 10th annual River Valley Ranch Tennis Tournament will hit the courts at RVR in Carbondale Friday through Sunday.GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. The tournament will showcase players with tennis skill levels of 3.0 to 5.0., which covers intermediate to advanced. Over 100 tennis players, from as close as Basalt, Aspen, Carbondale and Glenwood to as far as Littleton and even Kansas, will be competing in either doubles, singles or mixed doubles play. “It is getting bigger every year,” said Josh Passchier, the director of tennis at RVR. “I think this is the biggest field we’ve had.”Registration is closed for the event, but spectators are encouraged to attend. Play will begin at noon on Friday, continue into the evening and all day Saturday before the finals take place on Sunday. The tournament is expected to finish mid-afternoon on Sunday.To view the draws or track results, go to
