Annual Turkey Trot 5K scheduled for Thanksgiving Day
A yearly pre-turkey and stuffing running ritual will return to Glenwood Springs on Thanksgiving Day.
The annual Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, at the Glenwood Springs Community Center.
The race will begin at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day and will serve as a fundraiser for the Glenwood Springs High School boys and girls swim teams, the Team Sopris swim club and the GSHS cross country team.
This will be the second consecutive year the annual race will be held at the community center. It previously was held at the Glenwood Springs Golf Course until last year.
Preregistration can be done at Independence Run and Hike in Carbondale and at Summit Canyon Mountaineering in downtown Glenwood Springs. Cost for preregistration is $10, with a $15 registration cost applying on the day of the race. Race-day registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 28.
