Area Sports Briefs

The Lions clubs of Silt and New Castle are teaming up for the second annual Lions at Lakota Charity Golf Outing June 3 at the new Lakota Canyon Golf Course. This event is a four-person team scramble limited to the first 72 golfers. Lunch, beverages and prizes will follow the tournament.

This year there will be a putting contest immediately after the tournament. The golf outing benefits local vision care, scholarships for area youth and community needs.

The Colorado Volleyball Officials Association recently named Christy Wohletz the new area director. The region spans from Rifle to Aspen to Vail.
