The Glenwood Springs youth Lacrosse team will hold a four-team tournament Saturday and Sunday at Giles Field west of Glenwood Springs High School.The Glenwood squad, consisting of players from Glenwood and Carbondale, opens the tournament Saturday with a 9:30 a.m. game against Vail, then takes on Summit and Durango at 12:30 and 2 p.m., respectively. Glenwood faces off with Durango at 10 a.m. Sunday

Doug Zon carded his first hole-in-one with a 7-iron on the 153-yard par-3 No. 8 hole on Monday.Zon’s son, Adam, and Roger Pihl witnessed the ace.

The Battlement Mesa Tennis Classic tournament for 3.0 and 3.5 men’s and women’s singles and doubles players is slated for Saturday, May 28, at the Battlement Mesa Activity Center in Parachute.The event is limited to 16 singles entries and eight doubles entries. The fee is $25 for the first event and $15 for the second event and includes a free day pass to the activity center, T-shirts and first- and second-place trophies.Singles play begins at 8 a.m. and doubles starts at 4 p.m.Information: 285-9480.
