The Junior Gentlemen rugby team wrapped up it season with its first victory Saturday, defeating ThunderRidge 36-15 in Basalt.

“We handed it to them pretty well most of the game,” Gents coach Rob Hurley said. “Our forwards did a lot of the hard work scoring multiple trys, and the backs kept the defense on their toes.”

The Junior Gents finish the season with a Colorado Youth Rugby record of 1-6. Coach Rob Hurley singled out the solid play of Basalt’s Josh Wolfe (flanker) and Willie Chenoweth (flanker and prop).

The team will hold its awards banquet May 17 at the Glenwood Caverns. To RSVP for the banquet, call 309-5360.
