The weekend-long River Valley Ranch tennis classic culminated with singles and doubles championship matches Sunday.

Men’s singles winners were: Ted Bristol, of Carbondale, in the 3.5 division; Glenwood resident Mike Vidakovich in the 4.0 division; Jim Latter, of Crested Butte, in the 4.5 division; and Chad Yates, of Snowmass Village, in the 5.0 division.

Women’s singles champions included Snowmass Village resident Susan Borm (3.5), Andrea Murr, from New Castle (4.0), and Jessica Haller (4.5), also of Snowmass Village.

Men’s doubles champs were Thomas Clark and Keith Swanson (3.5) and Paul Dudley and Henry Sadler (4.0). Winners of the three women’s doubles titles were Andi Born and Ashley Richardson (3.0), Sue Horn and Sharon Leslie (3.5) and Susan Cheney and Janet Leverson (4.0).

In the mixed-doubles tournament, Keith and Faye Swanson captured the 3.5 division. Darin Rienks and Janet Leverson won the 4.0 title.

Six members of the Glenwood Springers will represent the local youth track club July 26-30 at the National Junior Olympics in Indianapolis. The club is seeking donations from local businesses and individuals to help defray the costs of the trip. Information: Mike Kishimoto, 379-3365.

The lights on the basketball courts at Sayre Park will burn bright Saturday when 4-on-4 basketball teams gather for the second annual tournament.

Registrations will be accepted up to the 1 p.m. start of the event. Entry fee is $125 per team. Fees include an event T-shirt, admission to the team barbecue and a chance at door prizes from area businesses for all players. Teams can have up to six players on their rosters.

The Colorado Volleyball Officials Association seeks new or existing volleyball officials for the fall junior high and high school seasons. The region extends from Parachute to Aspen to Vail. The season runs from September to mid-November, and the position offers excellent pay.
