Registrations are being accepted for the annual Soda Pop Open at the Glenwood Springs Golf Club course in West Glenwood. The event is slated for Aug. 1.

Play starts at 8:30 a.m. Morning events include the three-hole tournament for boys and girls ages 9 and under, a nine-hole event for 10- to 12-year-old boys and girls, plus the girls’ 13-15 nine-hole tournament.

18-hole events involving 13- to 15-year-old boys and 16- to 18-year-old boys and girls tee off at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $10.

The Dog Days of Summer 3-on-3 soccer tournament is scheduled for Aug. 13 at Gates Soccer Park on the Colorado Mountain College-Spring Valley campus.

Divisions range from U10 to U100 in male, female and coed categories. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, and there will also be an award for the best team name.

The tournament starts at 8 a.m., and the championship games are expected to start at 4 p.m.

The team sign-up fee is $160. The event is a fund-raiser for the Stuart Rippy Athletic Scholarship, which is available to student-athletes participating on CMC’s men’s or women’s soccer teams.

Lakota Canyon Ranch Golf Club in New Castle will host the Colorado Mountain College Stuart Rippy Classic Golf Tournament Aug. 12. The best-ball scramble begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. A buffet luncheon and silent auction is slated for 1 p.m.

The team sign-up fee is $360. The event is a fund-raiser for the Stuart Rippy Athletic Scholarship, which is available to student-athletes participating on CMC’s men’s or women’s soccer teams.
