Practice for the Glenwood Springs High School cross country team starts Monday. The team meets in the GSHS lobby at 4 p.m. Athletes should have all paperwork, including physicals, completed for the first practice.

Practice for the Roaring Fork High School boys soccer team starts at 4 p.m. Monday at the River Valley Ranch soccer field. Nine practices are required to be eligible to play in a game. Any players who will have difficulty attending early-season practices should call Woodsie at 948-8746.
The first Glenwood Springs Middle School volleyball practice is from 3:15-5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, in the middle school gym.
Interested seventh- and eighth-grade girls must have a current physical, proof of insurance or waiver, and the $30 athletic fee to participate in practice.
Nine practices are required before competing in a match.

Three Rivers Youth Football will hold its football appreciation day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Glenwood Springs High School auxiliary gym.
The event will consist of a drills and 7-on-7 games for kids in third through sixth grades from 9:30 to noon, an informational meeting for parents from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and a coaches clinic from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Coaches from Aspen, Basalt, Roaring Fork, Glenwood Springs, Coal Ridge and Rifle high schools will also be present at the camp and accessible to parents.
The event wraps up with a pizza lunch at noon.
Three Rivers Youth Football is still accepting registration for the upcoming season and looking for volunteer coaches.

The Dog Days of Summer 3-on-3 soccer tournament scheduled for Saturday has been postponed to a later date. The make-up date has yet to be determined.
The Outlaws Lacrosse Camp is coming to Glenwood Aug. 15-17. Current and past college and club lacrosse stars will lead the camp, which is open to all ability levels in second through 12th grade.

The Colorado Volleyball Officials Association seeks new or existing volleyball officials for the fall junior high and high school seasons. The region extends from Parachute to Aspen to Vail. The season runs from September to mid-November, and the position offers excellent pay.
