The Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard club will hold registrations for youth classes in Alpine and cross country skiing and snowboarding from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Roaring Fork High School in Carbondale.

Staff members will be on hand to answer questions about programs offered.

A PADI-certification class for scuba divers will be held at the Community Center Saturday and Sunday.

Area girls middle- and high school basketball players are encouraged to participate in open gym workouts from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Coal Ridge High School.

Team registrations are being taken for the Carbondale Recreation Department’s adult, four-person, coed volleyball league, played Monday nights from Nov. 7 through March 13.

Cost is $275 per team. A mandatory captain’s/players meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Carbondale Middle School.

Seventh- and eighth-grade girls interested in honing their basketball skills can register for a preseason training class at the Community Center Nov. 1 through Dec. 10 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Weekday sessions are from 4-5:20 p.m. Saturday sessions, featuring game conditions, are mornings at a yet-to-be determined time.
