The Glenwood Springs High School Cheer Squad will host a mini clinic for children ages 4-11 from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 28, at Glenwood Springs High School. Participants will be taught jumps, stunts, cheers and a dance. Mini clinic participants will perform later that evening at half-time of the GSHS vs. Eagle Valley football game. Cost to attend is $20. The Defiance volleyball club is holding a series of information/registration meetings for players, ages 10-18. Meetings will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Rifle High School; 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the New Castle Recreation Center; and 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Glenwood Community Center.Athletes must bring a copy of their birth certificate and social security number to register.Information: Denise Greene, 984-3813;

Area skiers and snowboarders, age 7-16, interested in racing for the Sunlight Ski Team or the Buddy Werner ski race program can register for the 2005-06 season from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Sunlight Mountain Ski and Bike Shop in downtown Glenwood Springs.Information: Bob Lockard, 947-9250;

Registrations for the 10-week, Sunday evening adult coed indoor soccer league are now being accepted at the Glenwood Community Center. Team fees are $200 for residents and $250 for nonresidents. The league will be limited to six teams.Information: Andy, 384-6318.
