After making it through the first two rounds and then qualifying for the Round of 16 at the Colorado Golf Association Junior Match Play Championships, A.J. Joiner was eliminated from the state-wide tournament.Joiner, a 2006 Roaring Fork graduate who was representing Aspen Glen Golf Course, was defeated by the 2005 champion Tyler Parsloe by a score of 3-2. Aspen Yacht Club’s Annual Regatta set for July 16-17The Aspen Yacht Club will host it’s 37th Annual Regatta July 15-16 on Ruedi Reservoir, located 18 miles up the Frying Pan Road from Basalt. Classes may include the following: J22, Santana 20, Ultimate 20, Star, PHRF A & B, C-15, Laser and Portsmouth. Spectators are welcome as well as anybody interested in racing or joining the club. Information: Margot, 379-5776; baseball game taking place todayThe Frontier Historical Society invites the community to its seventh annual Vintage Base Ball match.The game is today at 6 p.m. on the field between Glenwood Springs High School and the Roaring Fork River.The game, a rematch between the Glenwood Sluggers and the Yampah Stars, is played under 1860s rules. Teams and the game’s umpire wear period-appropriate uniforms and clothing. Information: 945-4448.
