Glen Stott hit a hole-in-one on Thursday at Lakota Canyon Golf Course. On the ninth hole, Stott used a nine-wood to hit his ball 135 yards on the shot. It was witnessed by John Tesoner, Corby Pedersen and Phil Kanpilla.

The third annual Devereux Cup polo tournament will be taking over Stout Ranch, just south of New Castle, on Sept. 9-10. Games begin at 11 a.m. on both days, with the finals taking place on Sunday.There will be a celebration Saturday night featuring live music and hors doeuvres at the Hotel Colorado at 6 p.m.Information: (970) 566-0818.

Registrations are now being accepted for the annual Glenwood Canyon Shuffle, a 13.1-mile run and relay race and a 5-kilometer run/walk on the Glenwood Canyon bike path east of Glenwood Springs.Both events are Saturday, Oct. 7. The half-marathon starts at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K at 10 a.m. Entry fee for the half-marathon is $25 for individuals and $50 for relay teams. The New Castle Recreation Department is seeking coaches for its U6 and U-8 micro soccer programs and coaches for the U-10 girls developmental and U-14 boys competition fall teams.Information: 984-3352.
