Area Sports Briefs

Anyone ages 5-12 years old interested in cheerleading, there will be a camp this summer held on Mondays from 6-7 p.m. for ages 5-8 and 9-12 year olds will follow at 7:30 starting July 2. The camp is tentatively scheduled to meet at Coal Ridge High School.

The cost is $50 for ages 5-8 and $55 for 9-12 and the price includes uniform and poms. The campers will march in two parades.

Sign-ups will take place June 20 at 6 p.m. at the Community Center in New Castle and June 21 at 6 p.m. at Veterans Park in Silt.

Registration is underway for the Little Demon basketball camp, held at the Glenwood Springs Community Center July 9-12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The camp is open to boys and girls in the third through eighth grade and the fee is $40 for residents and $45 for non-residents. Glenwood Springs High School girls basketball coach Bryan Derby will direct the camp.
