Carbondale’s Doug Rohrbaugh led Roaring Fork Valley linksters with a 1-over-par 286 – good for 34th place – at the weekend’s Colorado Open.The 45-year-old recorded a par 71 in Saturday’s third round and a 1-over-par 72 on Sunday at Denver’s Green Valley Ranch Golf Club to wrap the tournament in strong standing. Rohrbaugh’s best round came Friday at Saddleback Golf Club, when he shot a 4-under-par 68.Adam Joiner, a former Roaring Fork High School standout now playing for Southern Mountain Junior College in Phoenix, Ariz., missed the cut after two rounds. He shot a 74 on Thursday, the tourney’s opening day, and followed with a 75 on Friday.Glenwood Springs Golf Club’s head pro, Greg Gortsema, also exited after two rounds. He carded a 74 on Friday and a 77 on Thursday to finish up with a score of 151.

The Glenwood Open will take over the links at Glenwood Springs Golf Club on July 7-8. The Pro-Am will be played on July 6.Information: 945-7086.

Registration is under way for the Little Demon basketball camp, held at the Glenwood Springs Community Center July 9-12 from 6-7:30 p.m.The camp is open to boys and girls in third through eighth grade, and the fee is $40 for residents and $45 for nonresidents. Glenwood Springs High School girls basketball coach Bryan Derby will direct the camp.Information: 384-6314.



Coal Ridge High School’s head boys basketball coach Mike Cox will be holding a skill development camp July 9-12 at CRHS.The camp is open to boys and girls of all ages. For grades six and below, the camp will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. Grades seven through eight will take the court from 3:30-5 p.m. each day and ninth- through 12th-graders will play from 5:30-7:30 p.m.All coaches are encouraged to attend free of charge. In association with United Soccer Coaches, the Glenwood Springs Soccer Club is hosting two summer soccer camps for players 5 to 13 years old. Camp dates are July 16-20 and Aug. 6-10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $110 per sessions.
