Glenwood Springs High School will be holding its fall sports meeting for athletes and parents on Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. at Glenwood Springs Middle School. Paperwork and needed information will be handed out at the meeting.Fall sports practices will start Aug. 13 and paperwork, a physical and a $75 athletic fee need to be turned in before athletes can practice.

The Coal Ridge High School boys golf team will begin practicing Aug. 6 at 4 p.m. at Lakota Ridge Canyon Golf Course in New Castle. All players need to have a physical before they can practice.Free physicals for all fall athletes are being offered through Grand River Medical Center in Rifle.For more information on playing boys golf for Coal Ridge, call Joe Elliott at 625-1906.

The Rifle Grand Slam Softball Camp will take place Aug. 6-9 at Deerfield Park in Rifle. It is open to sixth- through ninth-graders. The cost is $60.The camp will go from 5-8 p.m. each night. Three Rivers Youth Football sign-ups for the fall season will be held July 26 at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. Three Rivers football is open to children entering third through sixth grades, and the cost is $175 per player and $250 for families with two or more players.The season runs from Aug. 22 through the end of October. The Coal Ridge High School Baseball Academy will be hosting a baseball camp July 30 through Aug. 3 at Riverside Middle School from 9-11 a.m.The camp, for players in first through eighth grades, is $50 for individuals and $45 per family member if signing up more than one child. T-shirts are included.The focus of the camp is instruction and evaluation, positional work, physical testing, nutrition, strength and conditioning, agility and quickness, mental preparation, controlling emotion, dealing with success, dealing with failure, recognizing strengths and weaknesses, leadership and team building.Register at the New Castle Community Center (423 W. The Coal Ridge High School baseball team, in conjunction with New Castle Family Fitness and New Castle Recreation, is hosting a speed, agility and quickness camp July 30 through Aug. 3.The camp will focus on fundamental sport-specific movement mechanics, body weight functional movements, speed training, plyometrics, conditioning drills and competitive games.This camp is for athletes of any sport in the fifth through 12th grades. The cost is $40 for individual or $30 per child for families signing up more than one child. A T-shirt is included.Riverside Middle School will host the camp, which will run from 6:30-8 p.m. daily. Rifle and Coal Ridge High Schools are coming together to host session two of the Bear/Titan golf camp this summer Aug. 1-3 from 9-11 a.m. at Rifle Creek Golf Course.
