In Rifle Creek Golf Course’s first annual pro junior tourney held recently, Matt Rowe, Jim Knous, Tristan Rohrbaugh and Ty Corron of Ironbridge took home the team division title with a score of 60. Another Ironbridge squad, made up of Keith Hummerickhouse, Alex Haines, David Sours and Michael Brumford, placed second with a 62. Rifle Creek’s Kyle Daniell, Haisly Minturn, Jacob Smith and Klayton Costanzo finished third with a 63.Individually, Ed Marzec of the Country Club of the Rockies took first with a 67. Hummerickhouse from team Ironbridge carded a 68 for second place and Rifle’s Tad Halloway finished third with a 69.
The Glenwood Springs High School football coaches and players will be conducting a youth football camp Aug. 14-16 at Glenwood Springs Middle School.It is open to players in third through seventh grades and will be held each night from 5-6:30 p.m. The cost is $30 and all players will receive a T-shirt.Information: 704-3228.

Paperwork and needed information will be handed out at the meeting.Fall sports practices will start Aug. 13 and paperwork, a physical and a $75 athletic fee need to be turned in before athletes can practice.
There will be an inline skating obstacle course and BMX bike races for all ages Thursday at Carbondale’s Roller Hockey Rink Park, accompanied by lots of fun and free food. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. and go till dark.Information: Becky, 704-4116.

Basalt Soccer Club is looking for people interested in coaching for the fall season. This is a paid position. The Rifle Grand Slam Softball Camp will take place Aug. 6-9 at Deerfield Park in Rifle. It is open to ninth- through 12th-graders. The cost is $60. Sixth- through eighth-graders are also welcome.The camp will go from 5-8 p.m. each night. Carbondale Recreation is starting a four-on-four flag football league and needs the community’s help to make it happen. Anybody 18 years and older is welcome to join. Teams will be comprised of six players, and at least six teams are needed to make the program work. Games will be played on Tuesday nights. Information: Becky, 704-4116.
