Silt was represented in quick fashion in Manitou Springs on Aug. 18.Bernie Boettcher took third overall ($1500) in the Pikes Peak Marathon on Sunday with a time of 4 hours, 14 minute and 3 seconds. The placement netted a $1,500 cash prize. It was Boettcher’s 263 race since turning 40 and he’s recorded 113 overall wins and 206 masters wins in the last 257 weeks.

Due to inaccurate information given to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent, an article about Coal Ridge boys golf in Friday’s paper mistakenly identified Kyle Simonson as Thomas Simmons. Simonson shot an 88 to lead all Titan golfers at the Eagle Invitational in Gypsum on Thursday. The Post Independent regrets this error.
