Grand Valley’s girls basketball team capped a 3-0 weekend at the Meeker Shootout with a 54-30 rout of the host school on Saturday.
Kendall Babler netted a game-high 24 points, and Lauren Schubert chipped in with 13 for the Cardinals, who outscored Meeker 22-6 in the first quarter and never looked back.
New Castle Recreation is taking registration for the boys third- through sixth-grade basketball.
The season will start Jan. 9 and run through February. Practices will be held at Kathryn Senor Elementary School 6-8 p.m. on either a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday basis.
