The Glenwood girls C basketball team traveled to Basalt on Thursday, and in its second match with Basalt the team struggled throughout the game and eventually lost 32-24. Passing errors and turnovers caused the team to never be able to get its offense on track. With the loss, Glenwood’s overall record is now 9-2.
Kristy Moore led the team with 14 points.
The team will try to get back on track this upcoming Tuesday in a rematch against Eagle. The contest starts at 5:30 p.m.
The Glenwood Springs U14 girls soccer team is seeking one or two additional players. These roster spots are for serious players who are ready for the challenge of competing in the classic division of the CYS state soccer league.

New Castle Recreation is looking for the following youth coaches: a U14 boys developmental team coach, U10 and below soccer coaches, first-grade and under wrestling coach and additional wrestling assistant coaches.

New Castle Recreation is taking registration for wrestling, which starts Feb. 25 and runs through May 3. Practice will be 4-5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays for first-graders and younger. Practice for second-graders and older runs 5:15-6:30 p.m.
The Roan Plateau Soccer Association is looking for coaches for its U18 boys team during the 2008 spring state league. This is a volunteer position with a time commitment spanning from March through the end of May.
Practices are held three days a week for two hours. The season consists of five home and five away games and travel could be as far as Pueblo. Coaches should have a competitive soccer background.
The Sportswomen of Colorado is announcing that the online summer camps scholarship opportunity registration is open through April 15.
This scholarship program is available to all girls in Colorado, ages 9 through the eighth-grade. Girls attending high school are not eligible. More than 100 scholarships will be available to be awarded on April 20. Winners will be notified after April 20.
All eligible girls, their parents, guardians or teachers can apply by going to http://www.sportswomenofcolorado.org and clicking on Summer Camp Programs to sign up online or download a nomination form and fax or mail it to Summer Camp office. Contact information is on the form.
Carbondale Middle School is the site of open gym basketball on Wednesday nights from 7-9 p.m. Individuals must be at least 18 years old to participate. The cost is $5 per session of $60 for the whole season. The season is in full swing.

Registration for the 2008 season of Three Rivers Little League will be held 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, and Wednesday, Feb. 13. Children who live within the Three Rivers Little League boundaries are eligible to enroll to play baseball. Registration is required even if the child played previously.
Registration will be held at Carbondale Middle School, Basalt Middle School and Glenwood Springs Elementary School. At least one parent or legal guardian must be present, with one proof of residence and an original or state-certified copy of the child’s birth certificate. The documents will be inspected and returned at registration. The season starts April 5.
