The Glenwood Springs High School baseball team will be hosting its annual Pee Wee baseball camp on March 17-18 at its field at Glenwood Springs Middle School.

The camp is open to kids ages 6-13 and costs $30 per kid or $50 for a family. The camp will go from 4-6 p.m. both evenings.

The National Barrel Horse Association District 10 is holding a membership drive for all barrel racers regardless of age or ability. The drive will be held March 15-16 at the Garfield County Fairgrounds in Rifle.

Glenwood Springs Parks and Recreation is currently accepting registration for its spring adult co-ed and men’s softball leagues.

Leagues will openings are Tuesday co-ed rec (one spot left), Thursday co-ed rec and Thursday men’s comp. All games will be played at Two Rivers Park or Sayre Park.

League play begins Tuesday, April 14, and will last eight weeks, followed by an end-of-season tournament. Team fees range from $375 to $400. Team fees must accompany registration; no exceptions. The registration deadline is Friday, March 31.

There will be a managers meeting on Wednesday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Community Center.

The ninth annual Sequoia Glen 5K run/walk will take place on Saturday, March 15, at 3 p.m.

The race starts and finishes at the base of Mitchell Creek Road in West Glenwood Springs and the cost to enter is $10, with all proceeds benefiting Colorado Animal Rescue.

Registration begins at 2 p.m. on race day.

Walkers are welcome.

This is the first race in the 2008 Colorado River Valley Charity Race Series.

The Glenwood Springs Lacrosse Club is looking for referees for high school level games. Certification is available for those interested. Experience with lacrosse is helpful, but not necessary.
