Ben Guska placed 14th in the freestyle kayak competition at the Teva Mountain Games in Vail on Saturday. Guska, a Glenwood Springs High School graduate and professional kayaker, finished 11th out of a 37-kayaker field with a 148-point performance on Friday to qualify for Saturday’s semifinals.

Needing a top finish to advance to the finals, 22-year-old Guska took 14th place with 40 points, missing the cut for Saturday afternoon’s finals.
