GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Today’s Glenwood Springs High School-hosted girls golf tournament at Glenwood Springs Golf Club has been postponed due to a snow-coated course. A makeup date has yet to be set.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado ” Coal Ridge’s Cheyln McCain had quite the Saturday at the Frank Woodburn Invitational in Grand Junction.

The Titan junior won the 300-meter hurdles (48.83 seconds), took third in the 100 hurdles (17.14) and joined forces with teammates Kathleen Maldonado, Rachel Becker and Kelsey Gasaway to snag third in both the 4×200 relay (1:55.63) and 800 sprint medley relay (2:01.24) at Stocker Stadium.

Bradey Gasaway, Blake Rivers, Alex Klein and Colby Fauser teamed up to finish third in the boys 4×200 relay (1:34.80).

Coal Ridge’s boys finished eighth overall in the team standings in Junction, while the girls took ninth.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” The Men’s Club at the Glenwood Springs Golf Club gets its season going on Tuesday, weather permitting. The Men’s Club meets every Tuesday for 24 weeks.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Volunteers are needed to help with the 10th annual Mother’s Day Mile on May 10.

The event needs pie bakers, race-course marshals and help with registration, the green team, kids’ activities and race-day clean-up.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Glenwood Springs Soccer Club and United Soccer Coaches will offer an advanced skills clinic at Glenwood Park soccer field from 1-4 p.m. on April 19.

Marley Wilson and Leigh Davies, coaches from the United Kingdom, will instruct the clinic, which is structured for players 8 to 15 years old.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Tryouts for the 2009-10 Glenwood Springs High School cheerleading squad will be held April 13, 14 and 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.

All female athletes in grades eight through 11 are encouraged to try out.
