GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Kit Peixotto drained a hole-in-one at Glenwood Springs Golf Club on Monday.
Swinging a 5-wood, Peixotto’s shot found the cup from 95 yards out. It was witnessed by Richard Rianoshek.
NEW CASTLE, Colorado ” Colorado Mountain United Soccer Club, in cooperation with New Castle Recreation Department, are forming a new adult soccer league.
Open registration for the CMUSC Burning Mountain Soccer League begins immediately. The league is forming in New Castle for adult coed and men’s teams. The teams will play at VIX Ranch Park and at the Kathryn Senor soccer field, each of which is in Castle Valley.
The coed league will be open to eight teams and will play a Friday evening schedule beginning May 8. Two games will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and two at 7 p.m.
The men’s 12-team league will play on Sundays starting May 10. The games will kickoff at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.
In addition to league play, the first annual Burning Mountain Soccer Tournament will be held on the weekend of July 18-19 in conjunction with New Castle’s Annual Burning Mountain Festival.
The league is affiliated with Colorado State Soccer Association and United States Adult Soccer Association.
