GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Glenwood Medical Associates is sponsoring free sports physicals for Glenwood Springs High School and Glenwood Springs Middle School student-athletes at GMA on May 11. The location is not GSMS, as previously reported.
Middle-schoolers will be admitted from 6:30-7:15 p.m. High-schoolers should report at 7:15 p.m. Physical forms can be picked up at the schools.
Dr. Bruce Lippman Sr. has organized this event for more than 20 years with the help of many local physicians who donate their time.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Registration is now open for the May 10 Mother’s Day Mile. The one-mile race starts at 1 p.m. and is a fundraiser for the programs of the Advocate Safehouse Project.
In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Mother’s Day Mile, recognition will be given to the Garfield County first responders, who have maintained safety for the staff, volunteers and clients. First responders of Garfield County are invited to attend with complimentary registration.
All participants will receive a goody bag, a finish-line rose, homemade pie and a chance to win age-group awards from Eldoret, Kenya. A gift basket silent auction will be held under the big tent.
NEW CASTLE, Colorado ” The New Castle Cup soccer tournament, hosted by New Castle Recreation and run in conjunction with 5 A Side Soccer, is coming to New Castle on May 3.
Registration for U8 through U18 teams is $150 and must be completed by April 27.
People can sign up for the June 6-7 Emily Johnson Play it Forward 3v3 soccer tournament at the New Castle Cup.
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Register now for soccer camps sponsored by the Glenwood Springs Soccer Club.
Three summer sessions for kids include: NSA Camp, June 15-18; USC Camp, July 13-17; and USC Camp, Aug. 10-14. A coaching clinic for adults will be offered by NSA June 15-17.
BASALT, Colorado ” Basalt Recreation is offering an adult beginner/intermediate tennis class with Brick Swirbul beginning April 26 from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Basalt tennis courts on School Street. The class meets four Sundays until May 17.
This class is for first-time players or players wanting to move up to an intermediate level. The cost of the class is $60, and you can register online.
