Glenwood Soccer is hosting a summer camp Aug. 10-14 for players 4 to 13 years old.

The camp will be held at the Glenwood Park soccer field from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. each day. The cost is $110 per session and registration is available online at glenwoodsoccer.org or by calling the club office at 945-6091.

Glenwood Springs High School is holding its fall sports meeting on Aug. 11. Students interested in suiting up for Demon sports teams should meet in the school’s theater at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in cross country do not need to show up, as that team already held its meeting.

Glenwood Springs High School volleyball tryouts will be held at GSHS on Aug. 17-21 from 6:30-7:30 a.m. and from 5-7 p.m. All interested girls in the ninth through 12th grades should attend.

The Basalt Half Marathon, a scenic 13- mile race that begins at the base of Ruedi Reservoir and travels along the Fryingpan River, returns to the area on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The event, a fundraiser for the Basalt High School cross country team, will begin at 7:45 a.m. Runners will be transported from the Basalt Middle School to the start at approximately 7 a.m. The race, which will finish on Midland Ave. at Lion’s Park, adjacent to the library, is part of the town’s River Days Festival.

The cost is $35, and interested participants can register online at active.com, or by sending an entry fee to: Basalt Half Marathon, attn: Ron Lund, 501 Kiln Court, Basalt, CO 81621. Runners can also register on the day of the race, from 6:15 to 7 a. m., for $ 40.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female overall finishers, and all racers are eligible for prizes at the raffle.

The Rifle Creek Senior Tournament tees off Aug. 15-16 at Rifle Creek Golf Course.

The action starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and at 9 a.m. on Sunday. The cost to enter is $110, which includes green fees, carts and prizes. Players must be 50 and older.
