CRMS alum wins U.S. Tele skiMax Mancini, a 2000 graduate of Colorado Rocky Mountain School in Carbondale, won two open men’s division events at the United States Tele ski championships at Copper Mountain this weekend.Maxcini had the high score in thee slopestyle and Tele X competitions. The Tele X event is comparable to boardcross skiing, on telemark skis.At the junior level for high school students, CRMS senior Matt Cahn captured first place in the men’s slopestyle and teammate Sebastian Paulsson finished fifth.Sophomore Claire Noone and junior Rachel Schwartz placed third and fourth, respectively in the Tele X junior girls event.Cougar girls earn split vs. AspenThe Glenwood Springs Middle School seventh-grade girls “A” basketball team defeated Aspen 26-14 in a PEG League contest at GSMS Thursday. Maggie Carmer led the Cougars with 8 points. GSMS got additional offensive help from Allie Rippy and Nikki Pearson, who scored four points each.In the “B” game, Stephanie Wilson and Hailey Dixon had four points each in a 16-10 loss.
