Bears fall short against Silver Creek

AURORA – Rifle High School fell short in its bid for a Class 3A football state title on Saturday, losing to Silver Creek in the championship game at Legacy Stadium in Aurora, 32-15.
Raptors quarterback completed 20 of 28 passes for 236 yards and four touchdowns to lift his squad to victory. Silver Creek was making its second consecutive appearance in the title game.
Ryan Moeller racked up 142 yards and two scores on 29 carries on the ground for the Bears. Backfield mate Kellin Leigh rushed for 116 yards on 15 carries.
Rifle wrapped up its season at 13-1. The Bears went a combined 24-2 the last two seasons.
