Bears survive scare from Roosevelt

Ryan Moeller returned an interception for a score as time expired, lifting Rifle to a 48-34 win over Roosevelt in the 3A football state quarterfinals on Saturday.

The top-seeded Bears, now 12-0 overall, will travel to face No. 5 Pueblo East (10-2) in the state semifinals next weekend.

Pueblo East defeated Delta, 35-24, on Saturday.

Moeller, a running back and safety for Rifle, finished with 196 yards and three touchdowns rushing, 110 yards and two TDs receiving and two interceptions on defense.
