Bears top Panthers in 4A matchup
Sophomore guard Jessie Pressler poured in a game-high 14 points, while junior guard Elly Walters scored 12 points as the Rifle Bears girls basketball team picked up a 41-25 win Tuesday on the road against the Delta Panthers.
The Bears (13-4, 9-2 4A Western Slope League) raced out to a 25-12 lead at the half as Pressler knocked down three 3-pointers, while Walters and junior forward Samantha Hinkle added six points each in the first half.
Coming out of the half the Bears scored 14 points as Pressler knocked down another 3-pointer, while Walters added four points in the quarter, allowing the Bears to pull away from the Panthers.
Along with Pressler and Walters, Hinkle chipped in with eight points, while senior forward Emily Neuroth added four points and sophomore forward Peyton Caldwell added three points for Rifle.
The Bears will travel to Glenwood Springs, Saturday, for a 2 p.m. showdown.

The Rifle Bears boys team fell on the road to the Delta Panthers, Tuesday, 45-40.
With the loss the Bears fall to 15-2 (10-1 4A WSL) on the season.
