Broncos end Rams’ season
KERSEY – The Roaring Fork Rams coasted through their first-round game, but couldn’t get by host Platte Valley for a trip to the Great Eight round of the Class 3A girls state basketball tournament.
Ninth-seed Roaring Fork (18-6) fell 68-62 Saturday to the No. 8-seed Broncos (21-3). No other information was made available to the Post Independent.
In Friday’s contest, Tarn Udall scored 19 points and freshman guard Ashley Jensen had 17 points in a 68-36 Roaring Fork rout over 24th-seed Trinidad in a first-round at Platte Valley High School.
The Rams broke open a tight game in the second quarter by outscoring the Miners (12-12) by a 20-7 margin in the period.
Along with Udall and Jensen, Jessi Rochel reached double figures with 12 points and Brie Bath scored nine.
Ashleigh Ackerman led Trinidad with 11 points.
