Cardinals break tape in 10 races

The Grand Valley track and field teams raced to 10 first-place victories in Saturday’s four-team Meeker Invitational.

Katie Bryan and Emmy Adkins each walked away with four medals. Bryan won the 800-meter run in 2:40.00 and took the 1,600-meter in 5:51.49.

Adkins was the fastest female in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 1:04.80, and also the fastest in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.00. The pair were also part of two top relays.

Running with Natasha Segreto, Danya Rodgers, Bryan and Adkins took top honors in the 800-meter Medley Relay in a time of 1:59.61. With the help of Rodgers and Kylee Duiett, the duo also won the 4X400-meter relay with a 4:38.00 mark.

Cardinal Adam Johnson raced his way to two titles, winning the 110 hurdles in 18.86 and the 300 hurdles in 49.23.

Jonathan Thompson won the 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:47.00 and Sam McKinley recorded a 11.51 mark to take first place in the 100-meter dash.
