‘Cats take fifth

CARBONDALE ” Down to their last life, the Three Rivers Rock Cats clawed back from elimination to fifth place in the 12U division of this weekend’s Triple Crown Tournament.

Pitcher Daniel Price held the Littleton Warriors to six hits in Sunday’s 6-3 win.

The Rock Cats took advantage of three first-inning errors to take a 3-0 lead and never trailed.

Three Rivers’ Alex Rascon had two hits in three at bats and scored twice. Jake Loertscher sealed the victory for the Rock Cats when he stroked a two-run single in Three Rivers’ half of the third inning after Littleton narrowed the Rock Cats’ lead to 3-2.
