Coal Ridge volleyball bound for Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – Coal Ridge’s volleyball team knows where it’s headed for regional play – Colorado Springs Christian High School.The Titans, who improved to 19-3 by going 2-1 and finishing second behind Classical Academy at Friday’s Class 3A District 6 tournament, also learned the teams they’ll be contending with for a trip to state.Coal Ridge drew the ninth seed – out of 16 remaining 3A schools – from Sunday’s Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) regional seeding meeting and will be paired up with host Colorado Springs Christian, Eaton and Monte Vista.The Titans should find out today when the regional tournament – which will be played under a round-robin format – will be held. CHSAA rules dictate that region play must be completed by Saturday.The top two teams in each of the four-team region fields advance to the Nov. 7-8 state tournament at Denver Coliseum.
