Contrary to report, Springers meet is today

Staff Report

If you showed up for the Glenwood Springers all-comers meet Tuesday, we apologize. But don’t worry, you didn’t miss it.

Despite an erroneous report to the contrary in Tuesday’s paper, the annual meet is today ” yes, Wednesday, June 29 ” at the Glenwood Springs High School track.

The event is one of the few opportunities for those athletes whose glory days on the track may have passed, but who still want to get out and prove there is a little gas left in the tank.

The event features age groups for little tykes to senior citizens. Along with the typical running events, field events include the long jump and shot put.

The entry fee is $10 for competitors older than 18, $5 for those younger than 18 and $50 for corporate teams. All members of the Springers Track Club compete free of charge.

Registration runs from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and the meet starts at 4:30 p.m.

Information: Mike Kishimoto, 945-1425 or 379-3365.
