CRMS telemarkers dominate freeskiing event

The Colorado Rocky Mountain School telemark team took Lake Tahoe’s Alpine Meadows by storm recently, sweeping the top spots at the Alpine Meadows Telemark Freeskiing Championships.CRMS took the top three spots in the junior men’s freeskiing competition and the top two in the slopestyle.Morgan McInvaille led the way with first place in both events, and Matt Cahn finished second in the two competitions. Zach Lueders gave CRMS a top-three sweep in the freeskiing event.Another CRMS telemarker, Claire Noone, also got into the action, winning the freeskiing event for the junior women.GSHS athletes earn Academic All State first-team honorsGlenwood Springs High School had 12 athletes selected to the Academic All State first team recently.The boys basketball squad earned the most kudos, with four players capturing the honor: Chris Benson, Dustin Braeger, Michael Flohr and Sean Flohr.Hannah Gentry, Lisa Richards and Andrea Vincent were selected from the girls basketball team. Three cheerleaders – Cassie Croissant, Hannah Greenstreet and Carolyn Wiltse – were named to the team, as were girls swim-team members Jennifer Betts and Manon Jacob.
