Demon boys, girls win on the road in Delta

DELTA ” The Glenwood basketball teams made the best of a road trip to Class 4A Western Slope foe Delta on Friday night, with the boys winning 92-47 and the girls winning 71-60. The Demons were led by Donnie Jennert with 17 points. The girls were led by Sharaya Selsor, who finished the game with 26 as the Demons bypassed Delta.

The Rifle girls beat Palisade 60-40 in a 4A WSL game in Rifle on Friday night as Megan McWilliams had 15 points and 10 rebounds. A boys score was unavailable at press time.

In 3A WSL action, the Roaring Fork boys downed Gunnison 56-48 as Torrey Udall scored 22, Matthias Weissl scored 20 and Alex Hernandez scored eight points with nine assists.

In 2A WSL action, the Grand Valley boys jumped out to a 24-4 first-quarter lead and the girls started on a similar rampage to go up 22-5 as both went on to victories in Class 2A Western Slope League contests on Friday.

The boys beat the Rams 61-50 as Tyler Jensen topped all scorers with 23 points. The Ram girls also won, beating Gunnison 57-50.

The Grand Valley girls dominated Soroco 63-31, with Lauren Schubert leading the charge with 20 points.
